Book Shelf

Another thing my best friend turned me onto, that I'm quite fond of, is Paperbackswap.com
A genius site, allowing avid readers a chance to "swap" books (cd's and movies)with each other for FREE! Since I love to read (again, two or four at a time) I jumped on that book train! Here's How it works:
-Gather up all your books (that your willing to part with) and click on the link above
-Sign up for the free account and start entering in all your books' ISBN's (international book sku number)
-Once you've loaded ten books onto your "shelf" you will receive two FREE credits (you can also purchase credits for cheap)
-Anytime another reader requests your book, and receives it,you get another credit!
-Start browsing and order up!
The only downside? It's difficult to find newer books, but you can create a "wish list" and be alerted once those books are posted.
Trade Books for Free - PaperBack Swap.

Here's what I'm reading..

EYE CANDY- Linda Mason. Used from $8.84 amazon.com
This colorful book brings you 55 pics of glam lids and luscious lashes. From "polished" (p.43) to "punky" (p.61)using only three products.

COMEBACK: A Mother and Daughter's journey through hell and back- Claire and Mia Fontaine. Used from $1.20 amazon.com
A touching memoir (my favorite kind of read) chronicles a mother desperately trying to get her drug-fueled, manipulative daughter to "come back". Vaguely reminds me of "Go Ask Alice"

YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT- Dr. Gillian McKeith. Used from $2.71 amazon.com  This doctor promises a slimmer, healthier, and happier you. With plenty of food lists to enhance such things as: weight loss, lessening stress, sexual well-being (NICE)This particular list caught my eye (pun intended)
"Dark circles under the eyes usually indicate food allergies and possible weak kidney energy" (apparently MY kidney is lethargic and has trouble making it's deadline)
SOLUTIONS
-rotate your foods, do not eat the same thing eveyday
-drink cranberry juice
-eat the grain quinoa ( an amino acid rich protein) I was skeptical at first, but then my boyfriend cooked it with rice, chicken and broccoli one night and now I cant get enough (and yes, I said "my boyfriend cooked it" If I could get away with it, I'd use the oven for make-up storage)

CHELSEA CHELSEA BANG BANG- Chelsea Handler. Used from $9.10 amazon.com
Where do I start with this one.. I have read all of her books and each time, they make me ROLL (roar out loud laughing)her penchant to sarcasm (much like mine) makes her so entertaining to read, you will literally bring each and every chapter with you when you go pee, cuz you wont wanna put it down.
"I used to look at that cat with such disgust. Even dogs have the dignity to go find a private area before dropping a deuce. Only cats think they have nothing to hide and can get away with just a couple of back kicks to alert the area that's about to be unsanitized that it's got something coming it's way. And then that's it. They walk right back into the room, sometimes even have the gall to hop onto the sofa and look around like, "Hey, whose turn is it to contribute?" LOL
THE BOOSTER- Jennifer Solow. Used from $3.99 amazon.com
This book is actually available on paperbackswap.com at the time of this posting.
"Jillian cannot seem to make things right no matter how many Chloe blouses come home in her pocketbook. Her "perfect" life is loosely held together with half milligrams of Ativan and stolen cashmere scarves. It's only a matter of time before everything crumbles."
Besides the fact that this fictional character reminds me of one too many former "friends", I thoroughly enjoyed reading how the kleptomaniacs of the fashion obsessed world live, or try to..
